I'm a data scientist and linguist; I look at numbers and words to find and fix problems.
I taught (and sometimes still teach) at University of Maryland, Baltimore County; go Retreivers!
I earned my PhD in Theoretical Linguistics from Georgetown University in 2017. My dissertation, and most of my graduate research, focused on the acquisition of Estonian, Hungarian, and English morphosyntax. I've also got an MS (Linguistics), a BS (Business), and a BA (Spanish Lit.)
I've worked as a handyman, a web developer, a business strategy consultant, a music industry magnate, a financial services analyst.
I am proficient in Python, PHP, SQL. I have experience with machine learning and natural language processing (scikit-learn, Scala, NLTK, spacy).
I am interested in work in linguistics, especially morphosyntax, and data science & text analytics, in the Washington, DC area.
I hang out with my kids and wife, dig in the yard, and walk the dog. I make good challah and English muffins, I collect records, and I ride bikes.
